Mark 12.41-44 | Luke 21.1-4 |
---|---|
And having sat down opposite the treasury, he watched how the crowd puts money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in much. And one poor widow, having approached, put in two copper coins , which is a penny. And having called his disciples to him, he said to them: ‘Amen I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all who have put money into the treasury; for all put in from their abundance, but she from her lack put in all that she has, her whole life .’ |
And having looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw a certain penniless widow, putting there two copper coins, and he said: ‘Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for these all put into the gifts of God from their abundance , but she from her lack has put in all the life that she has.’ |
